View ResourceWhy Reflective Practice? A Toolkit for Relationship-Building & Reflection in our Work & Workplace
"Relationship-focused and reflective” has long been synonymous with programs serving children and families. Reflective practice creates brave space for providers to think on their work, its impact on those they serve, as well as on themselves. Designed for providers working with young children and families, this interactive virtual workshop introduces the importance of reflective capacity in building relational safety in the work and workplace, and offers ten tools for integrating reflective practice, including use of how or what questions, mindful self-regulation, and critical self-reflection.
View ResourceAdvancing Reflective Supervision: A critical examination of power, privilege, and positionality
Authentic movements towards a culture of belonging in the workplace require continuous critical self-reflection – at individual and institutional levels – on the invisible and pervasive role that power, privilege, positionality, and whiteness plays in our workplaces, our minds, and our ways of being with each other. As the late Jeree Pawl famously said, “How you are is as important as what you do.” Reflective Supervision offers a dynamic pathway for engaging in trauma-informed, equity-centered conversations that transform relationships, workplace culture, and client services. This advanced level, highly interactive Reflective Supervision training hosted by The Help Group invites participants into the practice of critical self-reflection – at the heart of bidirectional growth within all workplace relationships – with special focus on the role that power, privilege, and positionality plays in supervision and leadership.
